INTRODUCING BOCCHI
You could say that BOCCHI and Diversified Spec. Sales, Inc. met at work. It was actually at an industry event called KBIS 2022. Our president, Matt Johnson, and showroom consultant, Brooke Gerrits, were drawn in by the company’s trade show exhibit, an extravagant display of fireclay and granite sinks.
So, a conversation began and it soon became apparent that the two were a good match; both companies share the vision of bringing beautiful, quality, and responsibly-made products to Michigan’s kitchen and bath market. So, after further discussion, a partnership was formed.

Fireclay and Granite: the Building Blocks of BOCCHI Beauty
Properties of Fireclay
Fireclay, also called seatearth, is a type of clay found far below the surface of the earth under layers of coal. This type of clay has many unique properties that make it a valuable material for building and product manufacturing. Listed below are attributes that specifically make it an excellent material for kitchen and bath applications:
Impact Resistance
Fireclay ceramic sinks used for sanitary ware are mixed with glaze and fired at very high temperatures. The glaze is no mere surface coating; the intense heat fuses the clay and glaze mixture together during the firing process and produces a strength comparable to cast iron.
Heat-proof
Because of the natural properties of fireclay, it is extremely heat resistant. This material can handle the heat with ease. In fact, fireclay is so strong that it is used as a liner inside large kilns and furnaces because it can withstand temperatures of up to 2,759 °F![1]
Food Safe
